Absence During Term Time
Time off in term time can only be authorised for exceptional circumstances. For further information, please see our attendance policy in the policies section.
If you have an exceptional circumstance to take time off in term time, please contact the school office for a form to complete. This will then be viewed by the Head Teacher and you shall receive a letter in reply informing you whether the absence can be authorised or otherwise.
Illness
If your child becomes unwell, please can we ask that you notify the school the first morning of illness, either by email or phone. If you call before 8.30 am, please leave a message on the answerphone.
Please, can you let us know the name of the child and what is wrong with them in the message. Stating your child is unwell doesn't help us to know if there is a set exclusion period for them to be off school due to the nature of their illness.
Below is a document that stipulates if there is any set exclusion period for a wide range of illnesses. If your child has an illness that requires them to be off school for a set exclusion period, then we do not require you to call in every day. However, if they have an illness that has no exclusion period, we require a call or message every morning.
